Hey Sweets! Thank you for stopping by, I’m so happy you are here!!! My name is Alexa, and I am the creator and owner of Batter & Blooms. I started baking 6 years ago when a friend of mine suggested I make a cake for a special someone’s birthday. Without any tools or experience, I set out on the baking expedition that would ignite the spark for baking I never knew I had. I had no idea what I was doing, but nevertheless managed to create a birthday cake worth sharing with friends and family. And with that, the origin story of Batter and Blooms was born.

The saying practice makes perfect never resonated with my personal cake journey. Instead, I like to say “practice and effort sparks exploration, which invites passion and drive that allows you to reach new heights”. If you would have told me 6 years ago that one of my greatest loves would be baking and decorating cakes, I would have seriously wondered how that came to be. But today, I want to share with you what this journey has taught me - if you don’t try, how will you know? If you never start that journey of self exploration, how will you discover all that you are capable of?

From concept to kitchen, designing and creating cakes for my wonderful clients, family, and friends has become something that makes my heart so happy. Combining both of my passions for baking and floral design, each cake I create has its special Batter & Blooms Signature. There is something to be said about giving and receiving flowers, which is why lush blooms are always present with each cake baked and designed by Batter & Blooms. You can never go wrong with a good slice of chocolate cake and fresh florals (at least that’s what I always say).

I believe in my heart that there is always something to celebrate. Whether it’s a monumental event, or just simply to celebrate life, cake always seems to do the trick; especially when shared with those you love most.

I can’t wait to create something very special for you to savour (or to devour, I’ll leave that part up to you).
